Thanksgiving

On thanksgiving I had a lot of fun and a lot of food to eat. i first went to my aunt house and stayed there for a little and ate a whole lot of food. then later on me and my cousins went to my brothers house. we played video games and i ate more food. after i went back to my aunts house and stayed for the night

After reading DOWN THESE MEAN STREETS Ithought it was ok. I think that the excerpt is interesting and it makes me want to read more.
I think that DOWN THESE MEAN STREETS and FIST STICK KNIFE GUN are similar beacuse both authors grew up in violence and poverty. There is also the absence of their father both emotionally and physically.

After reading 'FIST, STICKS, KNIFE AND GUNS' 1 connection I made was that the cops in the past acted the same they do now. When a black person/family is in trouble the cops would take a very long time to respond. But if it is a white person/family that is in trouble the cops would arrive in no time.
